Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)


There are currently an estimated 100,000 IT desktop support jobs available in the United States, and demand for support specialists is expected to grow more than 90% between now and 2010.
If you are looking to take advantage of job market opportunities, the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification puts you on the right track to get a job that meets increasing support services demand. 

With MCDST training, you will learn the fundamental skills needed to enter the IT industry as a support desk professional troubleshooting desktop environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Certification Track

MCDST candidates are required to pass two core exams. Elective exams are not required. The MCDST credential will not retire with the release of Windows Vista certifications; it will continue to be supported by Microsoft and valued by employers and decision makers who use Microsoft Windows XP. 

Prerequisites

Both experienced helpdesk technicians and individuals with little or no PC support experience are eligible candidates for the MCDST training program.
