A Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) is an individual who has passed a certification examination sponsored by the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
The examination is well suited for individuals whose responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Medical Front Office – Administrative Assistant
- In-Patient Admitting Clerk
- Medical Receptionist
- Medical Financial Bookkeeping
- Medical Accounts Receivables
The exam consists of questions regarding administrative procedures for medical billing and insurance claim processing as well as medical terminology and the Anatomy & Function of the body.
Training Objectives
The program is designed to empower students with skills and knowledge to increase their workplace competence and advantage. Learning is reinforced throughout the program with many "real world" scenarios (case-studies) and practice test questions. Hands-on, interactive teaching methods provide students with the skills necessary to compliment the Medical Office/Facility's overall professionalism and efficiency.
This also prepares them to sit for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CNAA) Certification exam, enhancing their ability to enter their new career path and providing evidence of the depth of knowledge they have acquired. This really gives the new Medical Administrative Assistant an "edge" in climbing the ladder of success in their new career!
Interactively, students will achieve proficiency and certifications in Microsoft computer technologies, all policies and procedures necessary for professional tasks in the administrative portion of the office or facility, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Basic Well Body Physiology and the Automated Medical Office - the Financial Office of a Medical Facility.
